Calvary Baptist Church
Schaumburg, Illinois

Calvary Baptist Church in Schaumburg had plans to expand their building in 1992 and required a comprehensive master landscape plan in order to get Village approval. The Village requirements for landscaping buffers had an estimated cost well in excess of the church's budget. Not having the choice to reduce quanity and size of the plants, the church hired Paul Bednar to coordinate a volunteer effort and do much of the planting themselves. The resulting landscape met the Village standards as well as the Church's budget and was embraced by all the members that chipped in to make it possible.
