As the project manager for Burnidge Cassell & Associates, Paul Bednar oversaw the production of the St. Joseph Hospital Master Site Plan. The site plan was part of a PUD approved by the City of Elgin in 1998. Bednar prepared all necessary written documents and drawings for the master plan PUD.

Shortly afterwards, the St Joseph's Hospital embarked on the first phase of the expansion, adding a new emergency room and surgical wing. Once again, as the project manager for BCA, Paul Bednar produced conceptual landscape plans and construction documents for the project.
