Village of Newark Comprehensive Plan
Newark, IL.

The small rural town of Newark is located on the far west edge of Kendall County. After years of being located far from development, Newark is now preparing for impending growth. It's neighbor to the east, the United City of Yorkville, has already experienced significant growth and as a result developers are purchasing land in and around Newark.

In August 2006, the firm of Paul Bednar Planning & Design, Ltd. was hired by the Village to develop a Comprehensive Plan to address any future growth. Currently all existing conditions have been mapped on a base plan. In addition, education workshops have been conducted, resident survey questionaires are being developed, preparation for a community design charette and key person interviews are in the works. The Plan is expected to be complete in the summer of 2007.
